Methyl dihydrojasmonate (most famously known as Hedione) is a perfumery ingredient that is primarily used in jasmine fragrances. It exudes a powerful floral aroma with distinct notes of jasmine flowers. This ingredient also carries hints of magnolia blossoms, providing a unique and elegant floral scent. It is described as being both natural and sweet, with fruity undertones of citrus, lemon, and grapefruit. Additionally, there are woody and green accents present in its odor profile. Methyl dihydrojasmonate is known for its diffusive nature and its ability to add a natural bloom to floral creations. It is often used at concentrations between 2% and 15%, although it can be used at higher levels if desired. This colorless to pale yellow oily liquid exhibits its character best in neutral pH conditions, between 5.5 and 7.0. Overall, methyl dihydrojasmonate is a highly versatile ingredient that enhances a wide range of perfume types, providing a fresh, radiant, and powerful floral note.

Their Hedione imparts a delicate and fresh aroma, reminiscent of jasmine, with green and floral undertones and a hint of citrus and fruitiness. When used in my fragrance development, it is partnered with other ingredients such as citrus, floral, and woody notes to create a harmonious and well-rounded scent. It's very, very good quality and I am happy it is available at a great price in Canada with a lovely company like Contrebande.
